Together with Anna Horeczy, we were pleased to host our Italian colleagues from the project “Lessons from Disasters”: Geltrude Macrì, Isabella Cecchini, and Idamaria Fusco at our Institute as part of the Polish-Italian research project “Lessons from Disasters.” Their visit included a study programme made possible thanks to the kind support of the Museum of Warsaw and the Łazienki Palace, as well as Piotr Skowroński, to whom we extend our sincere thanks.
We also organized a seminar in Instytut Historii im. Tadeusza Manteuffla PAN with presentation of our Italian project partners. They discussed their research on epidemics and institutional responses in the early modern Italian states.
The event forms part of our bilateral project with the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, “Lessons from Crises and Disasters: The Role of Information Flows between Individuals, Communities, and Institutions. Comparative Case Studies between Italy and Poland (16th–19th Century).”
