About Me

I am pleased to introduce myself and tell you a little about my background and interests.

My name is Agata Bloch, and I was born in 1989 in Warsaw, Poland. Although I have always felt very connected to my home country, it was a life-changing experience in 2010 that led me to discover my second home - Brazil.

As an exchange student in Brazil, I quickly fell in love with the culture, the language and the people. From that moment on, my passion for Portuguese-speaking countries has continued to grow. However, my fascination for these regions goes far beyond their superficial characteristics. Rather, I have developed a deep interest in their history and society that has led me down the path of research and academic inquiry.

My research has focused on the complex social and cultural dynamics that emerged from the colonial legacy of the Portuguese Empire.

This work is very close to my heart and I look forward to delving further into the depths of this subject.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better!
