On April 16, 2026, I had the pleasure of organising the workshop “Non-European Approaches in European Academia: Strategies for De-Europeanising Research” in Warsaw.
The event was part of the project “Next Generation PhDs – Innovations,” funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the STER program Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools.
The workshop brought together participants interested in reflecting on the place of non-European perspectives within contemporary academic research and discussing possible strategies for de-Europeanizing knowledge production in European academia. Throughout the day, we shared experiences, ideas, and critical reflections on research practices, methodologies, and academic structures.
I am very grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to such thoughtful, open, and inspiring conversations. The engagement, curiosity, and willingness to exchange perspectives made this event truly special and intellectually enriching.
Thank you again to all participants for your presence and valuable contributions and I hope this is only the beginning of many further discussions and collaborations.
